  1. Report insane Brilliant The best gig i've ever seen. My anticipation was growing like the new born for the weeks preceding the BDO however i am pained to confess as i was trying to get into the "D" i started to wonder weather it would be worth the ordeal of almost being crushed to death (seriouly i counldn't breath) between big sweaty tool fans. But it was. so worth it i had to brave the steaming hot crushing hell that is the underarm of a tool fan to taste the BLISS of Muse. i sung i loud as i could (in vain i might add, all voices are a big pile of steaming arse compared to matt's.) thank you for making 4th feb 2007 the best day of my life. i only pray muse will come back for a MUSE show with a set longer than 1 hour. if you missed them i pity you and evny anyone who will see them again in the future. sheppardsod 1927 days ago
  2. Report Muse's performance in Perth was simply unbelievable, and the superb trio more than lived up to their stellar live reputation as one of the most exciting live acts on the planet. Their perfectly structured set at the big day out festival rose far above any other performance for the day. To begin with such a spectacular song as knights of cydonia set the crowd for an amazing show. Indeed when Matt Bellamy started to play his classic piano rifts in butterflies and hurricanes and new born Muse seemed to be in a world of their own. The overwhelmed crowd rose to new levels of excitement when Muse perfectly ended the set with one of their greatest tracks, stockholm syndrome. the amazing jam of drums, base and guitar at the end of that song gave an incredible end to the best live gig i have ever seen. It was clear once Muse walked off stage that they had made their case and it was terribly convincing for the majority of the crowd. the continued crying of ENCORE after stockholm syndrome was deafening for those in the packed mosh. Muse's rare style of music is so impressive because they dare go where no other band will. It is difficult to describe how exactly i felt when i left the mosh. but evryone knew that they had seen something so unbelievably special that they were simply happy and satisfied. I was extremely pleased with the song selection which included all of the best parts of black holes and revelations and some of the many classics. Thankyou always to matt, dom and chris, you guys are breathtaking live and congratulations on the performance. look forward to seeing u at wembley obee 1933 days ago
  3. Report The Big Day Out in Perth was sunny and hot and a haze of smoke from bushfires around the city hung in the air at the Claremont Showgrounds. Australian and international Acts had been performing to a sell-out crowd on 8 stages throughout the day. As the sun hovered over the western horizon fellow british rockers "The Killers" were well received, and ausie band Jet managed to build to a crescendo despite being interrupted while security removed injured fans from the mosh pit. The delay turned out for the best because the sun finally vanished just as Jet left the stage. As wispy tendrils of smoke escaped the adjacent stage the tension in the crowd was building. The second MUSE hit that stage and ripped unhesitatingly into "Knights of Cydonia" the crowd was theirs. Everything before them was swept away and all but forgotten in the sheer power of their performance. Other bands had implored the crowd to sing along with their singles, to no avail. Yet suddenly, unasked, almost every voice in the crowd was singing along with Matt Bellamy as his melodic, lyrical yet at times eerie voice belted out "Hurricanes and Butterflies" and then the anthemic "Starlight". The band and the mood didn't slacken for a nano-second. When the big songs from he latest album gave way to old favourite "New Born" the crowd went wild. The choice of song list was impeccable, catering to all fans, old adherents and new converts alike. Neither could the crowd feel short-changed. Despite the 1 hour slot MUSE kept going. And it wasn't just the number of songs they played either. After demonstrating his incredible musicality on the keyboards for "Butterflies and Hurricanes", and his virtuosity on the guitar with his immortal riff from "plug-in baby", Matt treated the crowd to the kind of extravagant display only a few real rock stars can get away with, throwing his guitars around, knocking over speakers and sitting on top of them while hammering out extended endings to several hits. I only have 2 regrets. First, that I was too busy listening, dancing, singing and enjoying the moment to take any photos to go with tis review. Second, that we only got 1 hour of MUSE. I can only hope that, having eclipsed everything else yesterday, this stellar band will return down under for a solo tour soon. esseeeayeenn 1933 days ago
